• London Metal Exchange

  The London Metal Exchange is the world's premier non-ferrous metals market with highly liquid contracts and a worldwide reputation. In May 2005 it also launched the world's first futures contracts for plastics. In October 2005 the Exchange announced it was exploring risk management tools for steel, the first process being the publication of steel reference prices, produced in collaboration with Platts. If these gain acceptance with the industry the LME will take a decision on launching futures contracts, settled against these prices.
