In the SCS process, rust and mill scale is brushed away, leaving the surface extremely clean and very resistant to rust. No protective oil or coating is needed to keep the SCS steel from rusting when stored indoors. SCS sheet steel has many advantages for fabricators. It laser and plasma cuts faster than HRPO or hot rolled black. It produces more uniform, stronger welds. It provides a better paint finish, but uses a leaner pre-treatment than HRPO.
